@mikeylikestea When spooling up a bait caster reel, it is done differently than when spooling up a spinning reel.
With a bait caster, you will want to put a pencil through the hole in the line spool and let the line roll off the line spool and on to your reel spool. So do not spool your bait caster in the same way that you do your spinning reel.
If we get a chance this year, we will do a video showing how to do this. Thanks for writing in and good luck on the water!

Hi,
I have a question with regards to spooling up a baitcasting reel, you mentioned in this video that you should turn the line parallel to yourself to continue the same movement in which the line spools of the holder and onto the spinner. Is this then the wrong way to spool up a baitcaster to avoid twist? should you just spool one of those up with the line coming off directly?
Hope that makes sense!

@Dragontf18 If you are using monofilament line, 8 – 10 lb line is great for spinning outfits and will handle plenty of big fish.
There are plenty of good brands…Stren is a good brand name, as is Mustad line – also, for the money, Bass Pro brand “Excel” is also an excellent line to use.
For Braid, we like Power Pro and for fluorocarbon, we like Seaguar, as it is the original and the best!
Thanks for writing in and good fishing.

Very good instructional and informative video. I am a newer fisherman and this was the only video I could find that correctly showed me how to spool my line onto my reel. Thanks! By the way, I am a big fan of your products and introduced all of my friends to Thundermist Lures
