October 02, 2007. Winnipeg, Canada. The STOP SMOKING FOR GOOD Company announces that the votes are in and the winner of the Sept/07 “As-A-Role-Model-You-Truly-Suck” Celebrity Smokers’ Award, is actor Johnny Depp.
Along with the award comes a public challenge for Mr. Depp, as current Award recipient, to stop smoking for good - both in private and in public.
Visitors to the STOP SMOKING FOR GOOD blog in September voted Mr. Depp to be the celebrity smoker responsible for influencing the largest number of young people to freshly take up the smoking habit. This month’s “As-A-Role-Model-You-Truly-Suck” contest winner can be seen smoking in many of his movies as well as regularly in public.
