Windows XP users who need a little bit of help seeing parts of the screen can use the Microsoft Magnifier, a built-in accessibility feature.
Magnifier is a display utility that makes the computer screen more readable by people who have low vision by creating a separate window that displays a magnified portion of the screen. Magnifier provides a minimum level of functionality for people who have slight visual impairments.
To turn on the Magnifier:
- Click the Start button.
- Click "All Programs".
- Click "Accessories."
- Click "Accessibility".
- Click "magnifier".Set the level of magification and other options as desired.
Obviously, this is not intended to be a substitute for chronic visual issues, but it's a nice interim stopgap.
