Recently I came home from work and saw a police car outside the apartment complex, thankfully, they hadn't found me out, so I was good. Unfortunately, they were there as protection in case the renters from the 3rd floor came back while the office was cleaning out their stuff.
What a sight to see; the thought crosses my mind, "What if that was me?" It definitely makes you appreciate the fact that you have just paid the rent. But, also, being the scavenger I am, I kept my eyes peeled for appealing things that were being brought to the dumpster.

With the offices OK, I started my hunt for what I needed and what I thought might be appealing to sell.
• Set of three books on the civil war
• Rolling Stones Concerts DVD
• Set of 4 Cd's of Swing Music
• 8 Piece Drill bit set
• Neil Diamond concert tapes
• Box of ~150 manila envelopes
• Magazine holders (kept one and took the other to work)
• Box of ~250 #10 security envelopes
• A wooden chair for a fishing roommate to sit on

The biggest haul was a box that had over 100 cds in it. From Heart to Teddy Pendagrass, Celine Dion and Everclear. I was in heaven! I took them home and starting pulling them out to see what a great find I had.... Until
I found they were
only the CD cases
Boohoo!
I still kept a few for my own and took the rest back to the dumpster
You win some you lose some. Rather, it's all a gain when it's free!
Update: Do to some misunderstandings through the comments below, I did not steal the stuff, I had approval from the office to look the stuff over at the dumpster and take what I wished.
