The 5 Biggest Reasons You will NOT Make Money

I read a lot. I suppose you could say that I enjoy learning and also helping out when I can. One of forums I frequent is the Warrior Forum. It's probably the best Internet Marketing forum in the world.

If you're not a member there, I highly recommend checking it out.

As I was reading last night, it become very clear to me that most new online marketers will never make a dime online. Fewer will ever make more than $1000 online. And even fewer will ever make a living at it.

That got me thinking.

Why is it, that the online business cliché is "95% of people will fail"?

Are new online business enthusiasts set up for failure with this mindset from the beginning?

Is there anything we can do as an industry to double, triple, or quadruple the success rate?

While I'm not going to answer those questions directly, I did want to share with you why I think of the 95% who fail, a LARGE majority fail because of a few different reasons.

Those reasons are:

* Too many Excuses
* Too many Fears
* What I call SBS
* Lack of discipline
* Not taking action

===TOO MANY EXCUSES===

"I can't afford it."
"I have to go to a soccer game this weekend."
"I'm not very smart."
"I'm not a technical person, so I can't do that."
"I just can't."
"I don't have a big list."

When you make excuses for yourself, you will NEVER get anywhere in any business no matter how hard you try. Let's just face the facts here.

You need to, as the old adage goes, "grab the bull by the horns".

Stop making excuses for yourself, get out there, educate yourself, and apply what you learn!

TOO MANY FEARS

What are you afraid of? Failure? Success? Losing money? What?

Let me ask you something...

If you chase your dreams and fall flat on your face, worst-case scenario, how long will it take you to recover? The answer is probably less than you expect. How hard would it really be to find another job?

Chances are you could recover completely in a few months. Is the fear of a few rough months strong enough to keep you in a mediocre situation indefinitely?

Stop living in fear. In life, there is nothing to fear, but fear itself.

Quick example to put this into perspective.

I used to hate giving speeches. And I mean hate it. I would get so worked up about it in fact, that once, while starting a presentation, I got so light-headed, I literally passed out while standing, hit my head on the corner of the podium, and had to be taken to the hospital.

Why did this happen? I was fearful. I worked myself up so much before the speech, about me giving the presentation, that it made me physically ill.

The next speech I did, I chose to not even think about the upcoming speech.

The result?

I ended up giving an incredible presentation. So incredible, that it landed me a promotion at my previous job (before I started working full-time from home).

Like I said, "there's nothing to fear but fear itself".

WHAT I CALL SBS

SBS? Yep. Scatter Brain Syndrome.

Or as many people like to call, Information Overload.

You start with high hopes, vivid dreams, and a more enthusiasm than you could possibly imagine. You are going to create an AdSense Empire and make $25,000 a month from Google like Joel Comm does.

So, for two weeks, you bust your rear-end making content sites and building your virtual real estate.

Then, all of a sudden... You get an email from Frank Kern about Mass Control and how list building is truly the way to go.

So, for two weeks, you bust your rear-end making squeeze pages, driving traffic to them, building your list, using mass control techniques he teaches, etc...

Then, all of a sudden... And so on, and so on, and so on.

Well of course you're confused. Guru A says does this, Guru B says do that. What do you do? How in the world is it even possible to stay focused and work towards something when you're being told to do two different things to build a business?

Here's a huge tip for you guys.

Pick a guru. Learn their techniques. Apply. Stay focused. Stick with it.

Then, guess what happens... You reap the rewards that you deserve.

LACK OF DISCIPLINE

I think you get the jist of this one. It was briefly talked about above, so I'm not going to spend much time on this topic.

Stay focused! Don't get caught up in the latest, greatest new widget/opportunity that will help you make $50,000 next month. Chances are, if you've already spent a lot on internet marketing products, you already have enough knowledge to make a living online.

NOT TAKING ACTION

I can't even begin to tell you how many times I see people with ENOUGH KNOWLEDGE to make a damn good living online. Yet, for some reason, they never do anything about it.

Why is that?

They know how to build a list. They know how to create a product. They know how to cross-sell and build value. They know how to drive traffic.

But... For some reason, they FAIL at making any money online.

And this is the best part. Pay close attention.

After they make nothing, they blame EVERYONE ELSE because the gurus are holding onto some deep, dark secret that they "refuse" to tell newbies.

EHHHHH... WRONG!

There are no secrets. That's just the flat out truth.

You want reality? Here it is.

There are NO secrets. In fact, many of the gurus are playing with your emotional triggers to get you to buy most of their products. They're counting on the fact that you're still yearning for that "1 secret" to make you money online so they can sell you more stuff.

Ugh.

Please believe me. If you want secrets, all you have to do is truly open your eyes, watch what the gurus do, and apply it with your own business.
