A few days before the release of the second-generation iPhone in United States, there are already several reviews about the hottest gadget. During the whole gadget-review process, the reviewers were very much enthusiastic. However, they did point out some of 3G iPhone’s shortcomings.
The first major complain is about the battery life of the 3G iPhone. The second complain is about the gadget’s total price.
One of the 3G iPhone reviewers is the tech-columnist from Wall Street Journal, Walt Mossberg. During the gadget test, Walt Mossberg found out that the battery of the 3G iPhone has lesser battery life compared to the first-generation iPhone. He also mentioned that the battery of the second-generation iPhone can run out in one day.
David Pogue, a tech-writer from New York Times noted that if you want to replace the battery of the 3G iPhone, you have to pay Apple Inc. $86 to get a replacement. Unlike other mobile phones or smartphones, you cannot easily purchase a spare battery for the 3G iPhone.
Walt Mossberg also stated that even if Apple Inc. announced that the 3G iPhone’s price will start at $199, it is not actually a great bargain at all. You will be required to sign up a 2-year mandatory contract before you can get the 3G iPhone. However, if you do not wish to sign up for a 24-month contract, you can get the 3G iPhone for as much as $599 for the 8 GB model and $699 for the 16 GB model.
