Like other say, it’s better late than never. And that old saying was adopted by the giant of telco market, Telstra. However, it will delayed for two weeks compared to its rivals who will be distributing the 3G iPhone on July 11.
Optus and Vodafone will soon be joined by Telstra in releasing the latest version of Apple’s iPhone. The official announcement will be given by Sol Trujillo, the Chief of Telstra, by next week.
If Vodafone and Optus will start selling selling the 3G iPhon on July 11, along with the other carriers in United States and other countries, Telstra is planning to sell the second-generation iPhone by July 22.
According to the reliable sources, the senior executives as well as David Moffat, the retails chief of Telstra, already had a preview last week of the latest Apple store.
The first-generation iPhone was not sold here in Australia. The original iPhone was created only for the low bandwidth market. Moreover, it also works exclusively on GSM networks. The second-generation iPhone on the other hand, can work on a higher bandwidth offered by Optus, Telstra, Vodafone, as well as Hutchison in Australia. Aside from that, the 3G iPhone also works with the 850 Mhz frequency that is currently used by the NextG network of Telstra.
