Spanish Sports. Victory For Fernando Alonso & Rafael Nadal & Bad Luck For Sergio Garc

Big weekend for Spanish Sportsmen. Victories for FERNANDO
ALONSO in Formula 1 & RAFAEL NADAL in Tennis. In Golf
Spaniard SERGIO GARCIA was unlucky & finished 2º in the British
Open.
Current two time World Formula 1 Champion & Spaniard Fernando
Alonso put in a fabulous race to win The EUROPEAN GP at the
Nurburgring circuit in Germany, ahead of Brazilian Felipe Massa &
Nick Heidfeld who finished 3rd.
It was a terrifying & difficult race, with a rainstorm that took many
off the track & made tyre decision difficult. The restart saw Massa take
the lead but with 5 laps to go Alonso made a brave overtaking move that
clipped the wheel of Massa & saw the Spaniard speed away to take the race.
Alonso cuts L.Hamilton´s lead to 2 points, as the English racer & teammate
failed to win a point in this race. Here is the current World Title standing:
1. Hamilton 70pts; 2.Alonso 68pts; 3. Massa 59pts; 4.Raikkonen 52pts.
Next race - Hungarian GP
RAFAEL NADAL won the last tournament of the clay court circuit
for this season. The Spaniard played Swiss STANISLAS WAWRINKA
& won 6-4 7-5 to take his 6th title this season & win the STUTTGART
OPEN. This victory reinforces that NADAL is the best clay court player
of the circuit & keeps him Nº2 in the rankings, as he chases Roger
Federer.
Bad luck for Spanish golfer SERGIO GARCIA who lost the BRITISH
OPEN in a play-off with Irish player PADRAIG HARRINGTON.
Garcia finished - 7 after the 4 rounds & could have won the tournament,
but missed the last hole to allow Harrington to equal & finish - 7 as well.
This set both up for the play-off, & the pressure & bad luck was too much
for the Spaniard & allowed Harrington to take the title.
Sergio Garcia finsihed 2º in a great tournament were he played some excellent
golf , but in the end luck just was´nt on his side.
