Spanish Football Round 34 Saturday Results. Real Madrid Provisional Leaders

The 1º of the 2 matches scheduled for his Saturday, corresponding to
Round 34 of "La Liga", has been a real spectacle of football, excitement
& nerves. REAL MADRID has defeated 4-3 ESPANYOL coming
from behind in a miraculous manner to become the provisional
Spanish League leaders.
Allow SFS to set up the emotion. At the end of the 1º half Espanyol
were winning 1-3 thanks to a "HAT-TRICK" by PANDIANI -
pictured above - & an inspired RUFETE. Real Madrid were playing
absolutely horrible, with a defence that was completely lost, specially
Cicinho, & Guti who was nothing compared to his excellent game last
week.
VAN NISTELROOY - pictured below - managed to score Real´s
1º goal in the 29th minute when his team had already allowed
Espanyol to score twice.
However Pandiani nailed his 3rd goal 4 minutes later, & thus
the 1º half finished with the possibility of ending Real Madrid´s
chances of winning this years title.
Then Fabio Capello made 2 changes for the 2º half, he took off
Guti & Cicinho & put in Reyes & Helguera, the former to put
some spark upfront & the latter some order in defence. Everyone
was buffled initially, but no one could imagen the future outcome.
The change was to prove to be brilliant & won back the credibilty
of coach Capello as one of the best trainers in current football.
The "comeback" began in the 48th minute RAUL scored thanks
to a neat pass from Nistelrooy: 2-3 was the scoreline
Then in the 56th minute REYES - pictured above celebrating -
scored the equalizer from outside the box. The stadium was
absolutely roaring & screaming the comeback, the substitution
had paid dividends : 3-3 the scoreline.
In defence, it was a different story as well. Casillas was stopping
important plays, specially a shot from Luis Garcia & HELGUERA was
starring putting the order missing in the 2º half. Another substitution
which was giving results & maintaining Real Madrid alive.
Then the house came down , the comeback, the "miracle", thanks
to a Reyes pass that set up HIGUAIN in the 88th minute to score
the winner. Mayhem at the "Santiago Bernabeu", Real had comeback
from the dead thanks to its winning mentality, determination & guts!
Van Nistelrooy takes his overall goal tally to 21 goals leaving him
the current leading goalscorer of the Spanish League,"El Pichichi",
& Capello pulls off another brillant change to revolutionize his team.
Real Madrid now provisionally takes top spot on the ladder & puts
enormous pressure on Fc Bracelona to win Real Betis tomorrow.
The other game SEVILLE FC - RECREATIVO is currently in play with
Seville winning 1-0
