Best African Player For 2007 Was Drogba Not Kanoute

SFS was disappointed to hear & read the news published by Spanish
daily "Marca", that the real winner of the African player of the Year
2007 - "African Golden Ball" - was Chelsea forward DIDIER
DROGBA & not FREDRIC KANOUTE from Sevilla Fc.
The reason? That Didier Drogba announced that he would not
attend the presentation ceremony. Drogba wished to stay with
his national side, Ivory Coast who are concentrated for the upcoming
semi-finals of the African Cup & did not wish to abandon his team to
fly to Togo. This decision angered organizers who gave the prize to
second placed Kanoute.
Its not Kanoute´s fault , its the Africa Confederation attitude that has
surprised all taking away credibilty from the title
