Lake Erie and tributaries fishing report
Sponsored Links:
Tributary action was picking up until the rains came. Wind and snow will probably damper action this weekend.
Canadaway Creek was at the top of the list, followed by Buffalo and Cayuga Creek. Steelhead were the primary target and when things settle down, there should be plenty of fish in the creeks.
Yarn flies and sucker spawn in fluorescent green and pink were working well, especially when water is off color. Chautauqua and 18 Mile creeks were both off color and spotty for action. Barcelona was reporting some trout action on minnows under floats as the ice left the harbor. Casting spoons and spinners off the main pier toward the docks was producing browns and rainbows. Ditto for Dunkirk, off both the platform and the main city pier.
